The rating is high due to cleanliness, fast service, and an amazing waiter, Fernando. Once we sat down Fernando came with a wonderful smile and great attitude. We quickly ordered the queso and got it received within five minutes! The queso is a MUST. the chips are also very good too. Now to the hard part- my husband ordered the grilled burrito. He mentioned it was dry and the chipotle steak he got was a very unique taste? The tortilla was well cooked. He did not touch the coleslaw or jalapeño as he doesn't eat that. I ended up getting the chipotle aioli steak, carnitas, and chicken tinga. The chicken tinga was dry and not flavorful. The chipotle steak was sweet. Even with the chipotle sauce. It's a unique taste but was not my cup of tea. The carnitas were good. Not too much flavor but to the point i can eat it. They do load them up so i think one or two tacos are enough. They also add in lots of cilantro and onion. I do love these garnishes but if you don't then be prepared! The rice i got was very dry as well so don't recommend getting it. I also got the guild corn and i did like it very much! There was just the right amount of spice and perfect for my taste. The Horchata (not pictured) tasted heavily of cinnamon. More than i would prefer it. But still decent. Overall, the corn, queso, ambiance, and service are the true winners. Fernando spoke to us after i voiced my opinion and had a wonderful conversation about new ownership and upcoming g changes. He recommended their alcoholic drinks. Overall I'll wait to come back until they've made their changes.

Found out about this place from a friend, and I couldn't wait to try it out. First, the building itself is worth the trip. The stained glass windows are beautiful and viewing some of the history of this church is fun. The service is wonderful - our server was very attentive and friendly. The food was delish. We enjoyed the house salsas - while I am not a fan of hot - the habanero salsa with agave was really tasty. Their street corn is also very yummy. We had the chicken tinga and carnitas tacos, which were flavorful and trust me - just one will fill you up! Margaritas were tasty as well.

Easily one of the best taco places I have been to! The size of the taco is tripled the size of normal street tacos, hence the price. You only need 2-3 to fill up. Chips & House selection of salsas - 5/5 - Chips were so light and crispy and the salsas were so fresh and you have 4 to dip from Chipotle Cherry Steak Taco on Corn tortilla - 5/5 - The amount of different flavors and textures on this taco is a foodie's dream! Highly recommend this savory and delicious taco Baja Fish Taco on Flour tortilla - 3.5/5 - This taco was so large but lacked from flavor from the fish. The crispy fish was also soggy when I got to it so if you order it, eat it first! Street Style Carnitas Taco on Corn tortilla - 4/5 - Loved this taco because of its simplicity and amount of carnitas but carnitas was semi-dry and I needed to add my street corn to rehydrate it. Side: Mexican Street Corn (spicy) - 5/5 - Loved this side pairing and it wasn't overly spicy, had just enough of a kick! My server, Mike, was phenomenal! He was so quick, friendly, and attentive. I asked him for his recommendations (items I ordered above) and he didn't disappoint! The ambiance around is very unique and beautiful. It's a great place to be casual while enjoying an amazing meal!

Let's start with the decor. This place is set up like an old church! It's a marvel to see! My pictures won't do it justice. You can even sit in pews. I believe it was a repurposed churches but I am not sure. Next the complementary chips and salsa with 4 different salsa selections was excellent! Everytime a Latin restaurant gives chips and salsa for free I give instant class points! Last the tacos! I had the Barbados and the chipotle cherry skirt steak tacos. Before you order, you should know they pack these tacos with ALOT of meat. If you usually order 3 tacos... 2 is plenty! The Chipotle Cherry was delicious and the Barbacoa was a close second and I was STUFFED after those two. My waiter recommended the two cocktails I had which was the seventh street rose and the latitude adjustment. I like sweeter drinks and these both hit the spot! I'd order them again!

The food was delizioso!!! Many reviewers recommend getting the corn on the cob. I tried it, and I @Vitali Kaush, approve this tacos - Highly recommended. The service was fabulous. First time eating in a 'church'. The food was heavenly. Will return again, @Vitali Kaush

The ambience can't be beat. The food and cocktails are amazing. It's a very fun place to eat and the waiters and waitresses are friendly. Definitely will return.

First time! The chipotle cherry steak is SO good... you HAVE to order this taco. One of the best tacos I've ever had. The flavor is savory and slightly sweet. The green chili queso is yummy. It has a nice cilantro flavor. The salsa that comes with the chips are great, too. The orange salsa was my favorite; it was tangy, vinegary, and had a spicy habanero kick! The ambiance is cool. I love the stained glass windows. The service was prompt and friendly. You HAVE to eat here!

The tacos are to die for. Also, thier street corn. Get it on the cob. Messy, but delicious. The only thing I'd say is I really miss the duck taco. Best taco I've ever had in my life, hands down! Ik you occasionally have it. But, I live in Mesa and only come to phoenix occasionally.

Great Service and Atmosphere We had a wonderful dining experience, spending time with some friends and family at this location. It was my first time dining at Taco Guild and the food, drinks, and service were amazing. This little taco shop is truly unique. It's a former church with the orignal vaulted ceilings, stained glass windows and murals, a very relaxing vibe. Taco Guild offers a nice selection of entrees. The tacos are very good and and have some complex flavors- definitely not your average street taco. On this visit we shared tacos, chips/salsa, and street corn and everything was delicious. The salsas were on point, the chips were light, thin, and very crispy, just perfect. Taco Guild make their corn tortillas in house and they taste authentic. I had the Chipotle Cherry Steak taco with bleu cheese, poblano and onion straws with chipotle aioli. Trust me, you must try this taco, moist, flavorful, and beautifully presented. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Most importantly they have fast friendly service. Give this place a try.

Taco Guild is a good Mexican Restaurant located in Phoenix Arizona. The decor of the restaurant is unique. The building was previously a church, so there are incredible stained glass windows in the restaurant. The menu consists of Mexican dishes taken to a new level, for an appetizer I ordered Green Chili Queso, with jalapeño and bacon; the queso was exceptional. I ordered several tacos for my entree, one taco stood out from the rest. My favorite taco was the Lobster Taco, with large chunks of lobster throughout the taco. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this restaurant.
